With my head reeling, i have been immersed in 4 days of a sensational clinic with Dr. Sherry Ackerman! This was a weekend of discovery, challenge, and reflection.

Lectures focused on position and use of hands, and the "boxes of information" around the horse and the rider. Where we sit and move within these boxes directly affects the horse...these insights provide vital information as to the timing and the use of the rider aides to influence the horse.

With great finesse, Sherry guided riders through a basic and classical square exercise allowing each horse and rider team to meld with one another and begin a journey of respect and recognition. From these we each grew and stretched into an awareness of ourselves and of our horses and into more complicated movements geared to individual horses and riders. 

This rider had finally discovered the block within herself which had been confusing the horse for years! When the "light" finally dawns, the horse and his movements are beyond human ability to put into words. Suffice it to say, this was a weekend of  friendship, of sharing, of overcoming difficulties and making discoveries. 

Dr. Ackerman has a persistance and a kindness which makes us all try harder, listen to our horses more, and in actively doing less, quietly get more. 

The yoga sessions were invaluable, and we all realized the  importance of our own fitness and flexibility. Our horses can only be as flexible as we, the riders, are.

We are all better riders, people and horse owners after this weekend. The awakenings were deep, personal, and full of a sense of clarity and inner serenity. Join us!

Unfortunately, our insurance does NOT allow us to permit dogs at our clinics. Thank you for helping us to comply with this regulation, we really do like dogs! we just cannot allow them in the stable  area.
